Providing students with reflection and strategies to help them perform under pressure
Recent research indicates that in Victoria less than 80% of students in Year 10 complete Year 12. Our surveys (1,000 participants) indicated that 52% of students are having difficulties at school. A factor believed to contribute to these statistics is the negative thoughts that occur as a result of pressures experienced by the average student.
As an initiative to address this issue, The Shut the Duck Up! Program is designed to develop practical resilience skills in high school aged students. The program focuses on identifying negative self-talk (like a quacking duck) and provides students with practical strategies to Shut the Duck Up and enables them to perform under pressure.
