The PACTS program has been specifically designed to help provide parents, carers, education providers and support workers with up-to-date information about educational pathways that enables them to support young people effectively when they’re making career transition decisions during the adolescent years and beyond. The PACTS program has been successfully delivered in a range of schools and community environments.
Through activities and discussions, PACTS provides participants with:
Communicating with young people about careers
Careers/vocational instruments and options
Finding out about current careers resources
Training and further education options: Senior School Certificates, VET in Schools, SBATs, TAFE and University
Apprenticeships and Traineeships
Tackling the employment market
Preparing young people for interviews
PACTS is delivered over 3 x 2 hour sessions and can be booked on weekdays during the day or for evening sessions.
PACTS is also offered as a train the trainer PD. The training and resources provided equips participants to facilitate the PACTS program in their school or community setting. PACTS Facilitators can update their PACTS membership each year for updated Career and Transition materials relevant to their state.
About the Training
Stride’s trained and experienced facilitators can provide the PACTS program directly to parents within the school or as a professional development program for teachers and wellbeing staff. Detailed resource material is provided for the continuation of the program and to reiterate learning outcomes. The PACTS program can be run at both primary and secondary school levels.
